Our Values

1. Build the Volleyball Community
We believe in providing additional opportunities for youth to engage with and play the sport that we all love. Our intention is to support the growth of the thriving volleyball community in Kingston and area.
2. Transparency
We believe in open, honest and clear communication. Families, athletes, coaches and community partners should understand how decisions are made, what is expected and where the club is headed.
3. Coach Support and Development
We value our coaches and are committed to helping them grow. Through mentorship, education and a club-wide technical development plan, we aim to give every coach the tools and support needed to lead with confidence and consistency.
4. Accessible and Responsible Programming
We strive to make quality volleyball programming financially accessible. We will communicate costs clearly, build responsible budgets and maintain enough flexibility to respond to the needs of our athletes and families.
5. Excellence Over Size
Our goal is not to be the biggest club—it is to do things exceptionally well. We will focus on delivering high-quality programs, making thoughtful decisions and consistently providing more value than we promise.
6. Developing Good People
Athletic development matters, but character matters more. We are committed to helping athletes become respectful, resilient, accountable and compassionate people who contribute positively on and off the court.
7. A Culture of Fun, Kindness and Care
We want athletes, coaches and families to feel welcomed, supported and valued. While we strive to compete and improve, winning will never come at the expense of kindness, enjoyment or the well-being of our community. Our success will be reflected in the positive experiences and stories people share about our club.
Our
Story
Kingston Volleyball Apex was created from a belief that competitive volleyball can—and should—be about more than wins, rankings and the size of a club.
Built on the foundation of Kingston Volleyball Academy, Apex was established to provide athletes in Kingston and the surrounding area with a clear pathway from learning the game to competing at a higher level. Becoming an Ontario Volleyball Association-approved club marked an exciting new chapter, but our purpose has remained the same: to develop confident, resilient and skilled athletes who compete with purpose and lead with integrity.
At Apex, we value excellence over size. Our focus is not on becoming the largest club, but on providing high-quality programs that prioritize the high-level development of our athletes and teams. We believe meaningful growth comes from intentional coaching, strong technical training and an environment where every athlete is challenged and supported.
We are committed to doing things well rather than simply doing more. That means supporting and valuing our coaches, providing thoughtful technical development, communicating openly with families and working to keep competitive volleyball as accessible as possible.
Most importantly, we want Apex to be known for the people and culture we develop. We believe athletes can pursue excellence while still choosing kindness, accountability, teamwork and joy. Our goal is to build a club where players feel supported, coaches feel valued and families are proud to be part of the story.
We are at the beginning of something special—and together, we are ready to rise higher.
